SOME LESSONS CAN ONLY BE LEARNT OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM

The Run Beyond Project provides a framework which teachers can use to connect with and empower young people beyond the finish line.

The Run Beyond Project is an experiential program that supports young people as they work towards the accomplishment of a challenging but achievable Goal Event, which ranges from a 10km fun run, to a half-marathon in distance.

As students prepare for this event, they acquire goal-setting, commitment and resilience skills and the confidence to apply these skills, beyond the context of running, to all aspects of their lives!

We provide students with the tools they need for the task, including socks, shoes and singlets, at no cost to them or their school.

The Project is implemented by teachers  in their own schools, using our engaging curriculum materials, and with our training and ongoing support. Students are therefore guided towards the achievement of a significant goal in a familiar and safe environment.

ABOUT THE RUN BEYOND PROJECT

The Run Beyond Project was founded in 2015 when teacher and marathon enthusiast, David Criniti persuaded 5 of his Chester Hill High School students, all from refugee backgrounds, to go beyond what they thought possible and train for a half-marathon. It quickly developed into a program used by teachers in schools across Australia to help young people progress towards a goal, and acquire valuable skills which can be applied to enable them to excel in all areas of their lives, beyond the context of running.
